Dear Faculty Members, Colleagues, Students and Friends,

2022年即将到来，在这里，国际工程学院全体师生向长期支持学院事业发展的校领导、各部门、各学院，我们的合作伙伴波兰比亚威斯托克工业大学（Bialystok University of Technology，BUT）和克拉科夫工业大学（Cracow University of Technology，CUT），我们500名学生的家长们以及支持学院发展的社会各界，致以最诚挚的祝福和新年的问候！

New Year is a time to look ahead and in 2022 the International School of Engineering (ISE) will start a new chapter. Here, we’d like to extend our best wishes and New Year greetings to TCU leadership, Departments, Schools, our dear Polish partners Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) and Cracow University of Technology (CUT), our students and their parents as well as friends who support the development of ISE.  

2021年，国工学院全体教职工开拓创新、合作奋进，用智慧和汗水推动学院的发展。

Looking back at the past year, every challenge and obstacle has been overcome with concerted efforts and cooperation, leading to growth and development of ISE.

一年来，我们进一步扩大了办学规模。从去年的200余人发展到了今年的500余人，圆满完成首届52名研究生招生和2021级本科生招生工作，成为天津市唯一拥有本硕双层次的中外合作办学机构，学院肩负的教育责任与使命更加重大。

In 2021, we have further expanded the scale of ISE from over 200 students last year to 500 this year, and successfully enrolled the first intake of 52 graduates and undergraduates of class of 2021. ISE has become the only Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school in Tianjin with bachelor's and master's education. The responsibility and mission of ISE becomes more significant.

一年来，我们深入推进与波兰两所合作院校合作交流。从2017年的合作框架协议，到2019年教育部批准成立，再到今年成功举办了社会瞩目的中波三校办学合同云签约以及第一次联合管理委员会、学术委员会会议,通过不断努力创新，完善办学合作细节，竭力为学生提供最优质的教育。

In 2021, we have deeply promoted cooperation with BUT and CUT. From the cooperation agreement in 2017 to the approval by the Ministry of Education in 2019, this year ISE successfully held the online contract signing ceremony as well as the first meeting of joint management and academic Committees with our two Polish partners. Through continuous efforts to innovate and improve the quality of school-running, we strive to provide our students with high-quality education.  

一年来，我们努力保障教育教学的高效运行。面对后疫情时代充满挑战的国际化教育，我们与校内相关学院一道，与波兰两校的教师们精心打造跨地域、跨国界、线上线下结合的远程授课体系。虽相隔万里，学子们也能真切地感受到来自波兰教师们的精心指导和殷切关怀。

In 2021, we have worked hard to ensure the efficient operation of education and teaching. In face of the challenges of international education in the post-epidemic era, we have worked with relevant schools of TCU, together with our colleagues in Poland, to create a trans-regional, trans-national, online and offline remote teaching system. Students can get the elaborate guidance and care from their Polish teachers thousands of miles away.  

一年来，我们打造以学生为中心的育人体系，为学生成长保驾护航。我们创办首个学生社团“一带一路”研习社，精心设计中英双语的“中波文化走廊”，创立“国工大讲堂”学术科研讲座，开设欧洲B2英语学习班，不断提升学生的学习兴趣、实践能力、创新能力和国际视野。

In 2021, We have created a student-centered education system to promote the development of students. We launched the first student association "Belt and Road" Students’ Study Club, designed the "Sino-Polish Cultural Corridor", invited well-known scholars and entrepreneurs to deliver academic lectures to enhance students' study interest, practical ability, innovation and global vision.  

2022年即将到来，也更让人期盼。

2022 is coming and we have so much to look forward to in the new year.

我们将有第一批本硕学子赴波兰留学。对于年轻的学子们来说，这是一种挑战，更是一种极其珍贵的机会，承载了我们所有人的期望与期待。我们将会看到他们逆势奋进的积极乐观，看到他们融入异国学习生活应对挑战的冷静、责任和担当，看到他们突破自我和收获满满的自信和决心。

We will have the first batch of undergraduates and graduates to study in Poland. This is a challenge, but also a precious opportunity for young students. We will see your positive attitude to adapt to the overseas study and life, your calmness and your heightened sense of responsibility in face of challenges and unusual circumstances. You will make breakthroughs and fulfill your dream with confidence and determination.

我们将与BUT和CUT波兰两所院校一道，共同支持国工学子们度过一段不寻常的留学生涯。同时，不断深化新工科研究与实践，努力拓展工程教育国际化发展，不断构建中波协同育人新格局，培养具有宽广国际视野、创新意识和实践能力，服务“一带一路”建设的国际化复合型工程人才。

We will extremely concerned about your studies and safety, maintain good communications with BUT and CUT, and do our best to help you through this extraordinary period. Moreover, we will constantly deepen the research and practice of engineering education, promote the educational internationalization, continuously innovate new education models and cultivate more internationalized compound talents in engineering fields to better serve the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
