为提升国际工程学院学子在中外合作办学中赴波留学的适应力，提供全面的出国准备支持，深化学子对留学相关事宜的理解，国际工程学院“一带一路”研习社4月30日于现代教育中心A1109会议室开展“留学指南针”座谈会，为同学们提供了全方位的留学生活和学习指导，提供实用的建议和资源，帮助同学们更好地适应新环境，享受留学生活。本次座谈会由国际工程学院“一带一路”研习社指导教师胡洋主持。
To enhance the adaptability of International School of Engineering (ISE) students who are going to study in Poland for the next academic year and provide comprehensive support for overseas preparation, the Belt and Road Study Club of ISE held the "Study Abroad Compass" symposium on April 30 in Conference Room A1109 of the Modern Education Center. The event offered students all-around guidance on overseas study and life, practical advice, and resources to help them better adapt to new environments in next semester and enjoy their study abroad experience. The symposium was hosted by Hu Yang, the instructor of the Belt and Road Study Club.
活动开始，由2020届环境工程专业优秀毕业生校友张周延开展线上宣讲。张周延目前在宾夕法尼亚大学攻读环境专业硕士学位，通过视频连线与大家分享了留学申请的策略与技巧。他强调了提前规划出国留学的重要性，建议同学们在申请前要明确了解目标院校和专业的录取要求，制定个性化的申请计划。同时，张周延用中英分享了自己在美国的学习和生活体验、留学申请过程中遇到的挑战和克服方法，包括如何平衡学业和生活、参与校园活动等，在同学们提供了宝贵的参考。
The event began with an online presentation by Zhang Zhouyan, a 2020 outstanding alumnus from the Environmental Engineering program. Currently pursuing a master's degree in Environmental Science at the University of Pennsylvania, Zhang shared strategies and tips for study abroad applications via video call. He emphasized the importance of early planning, advising students to thoroughly understand the admission requirements of target universities and programs and to create personalized application plans. Zhang also shared his academic and life experiences in the U.S., challenges faced during the application process, and methods to overcome them, including balancing academics and personal life and participating in campus activities. His bilingual (Chinese-English) insights provided valuable references for attendees.

Then,three members of the Belt and Road Study Club delivered English presentations on tips for travel, cuisine, and daily communication abroad.
在出行方面，2023级土木合一班王怡迪进行《出国旅游景点和出行方式》宣讲，分享了如何规划行程、选择安全的交通方式以及应对突发情况的方法，并提供了实用的交通APP和网站推荐。详细讲解了如何利用各种交通工具，比如火车、巴士、地铁和出租车，以及如何通过在线地图和导航工具来优化路线，确保旅途的顺畅和安全，特别强调了在异国他乡出行时，了解当地紧急求助电话和安全常识的重要性。
Travel: Wang Yidi (Class of 2023, Civil Engineering) presented "Tourist Attractions and Transportation Abroad," sharing tips on itinerary planning, safe transportation choices, and handling emergencies. He recommended practical travel apps and websites, explaining how to optimize routes using trains, buses, subways, taxis, and navigation tools. He highlighted the importance of knowing local emergency contacts and basic safety knowledge.
在饮食方面，2023级土木合一班潘鹏宇以《波兰美食探索和厨房安全》为题，介绍了如何适应异国饮食文化、寻找中餐馆以及自制家乡美食的技巧，还分享了健康饮食的建议，不仅提供了寻找当地特色美食的策略，还教授了如何阅读和理解菜单，以及如何与服务员沟通，确保能够享受到满意的餐饮体验。同时，他强调了营养均衡的重要性，并推荐了一些易于准备的健康食谱，帮助同学们在忙碌的学习生活中也能保持良好的饮食习惯。
Cuisine: Pan Pengyu (Class of 2023, Civil Engineering) presented "Exploring Polish Cuisine and Kitchen Safety," discussing how to adapt to foreign food cultures, locate Chinese restaurants, and cook homemade meals. He shared the suggestions for healthy food and offered strategies for discovering local delicacies, interpreting menus, and communicating with waitstaff. Simple healthy recipes were recommended for students to keep a good diet during the busy study life.
在常用表达方面，2023级土木合一班童凯分享《出国常用英语及礼仪指南》，提供了日常交流、学习和生活等方面的常用词汇和句型，并鼓励同学们多练习口语，提高语言水平。他讲解了在不同场合下可能用到的实用短语和表达方式，比如在购物、点餐、问路时的对话技巧，以及如何在学术环境中有效沟通。鼓励同学们走出舒适区，多与当地人交流，注重语言学习的实践性，从而更快地提升语言能力。
Expression: Tong Kai (Class of 2023, Civil Engineering) presented "Essential English Phrases and Etiquette for Studying Abroad," covering useful words and sentences for daily communication, academics, and social interactions. He encouraged students to practice speaking and engage with locals. And he shared practical English phrases and expression, such as language skills in real-life scenarios like shopping, dining, and academic discussions.
2023-2024学年赴波随行教师胡洋分享自己的亲身体会与经验。胡洋老师强调签证申请的重要性，并介绍了申请细节，如材料准备和面试技巧。详细讲解了在国外与波兰人沟通的方式方法与注意事项、真实海外工作生活经历和适应异国文化的经验，鼓励同学们保持开放心态，积极融入新环境，享受留学生活，为他们的留学之旅增添了信心和动力。
Hu Yang, the advisor who wnet to Poland together with students for 2023-2024, shared firsthand experiences and advice. He emphasized visa application details, including document preparation and interview tips. Hu also discussed cross-cultural communication strategies, adapting to Polish culture, and maintaining a positive mindset abroad. His insights boosted students' confidence for their upcoming journeys.
在经验分享环节结束后，“一带一路”研习社还安排了互动问答环节，让学子有机会提出自己在出国准备阶段遇到的问题，现场气氛热烈。
In the last Session following the presentations, an interactive Q&A allowed students to address concerns about study abroad preparation, fostering lively discussions.
通过此次“留学指南针”活动，学院希望同学们能够对留学有更深入的了解，为即将到来的留学生活做好充分准备。“一带一路”研习社将会继续秉持“重德重能，善学善建”校训精神，持续开展“研习”夜话、“一带一路”读书会、英语考试培训及讲解、留学经验分享会等活动，助力提升学子个人综合素质、拓展国际化视野、增强学生国际化竞争力，为擦亮学校国际教育名片注入新动力。
