On April 9, the sixth session of the "Hi, Professors!" series hosted by the International School of Engineering (ISE) was successfully held in A1111 of the Modern Education Center. The event invited Professor Jacek Czubinski from the Faculty of Architecture, Cracow University of Technology (CUT) in Poland, to have in-depth exchanges with undergraduate students majoring in Environmental Engineering, Architecture and Landscape Architecture from ISE. Wan Shiqing, from the Teaching Affairs Office of ISE served as the host.

At the beginning of the event, Professor Jacek Czubinski started his self-introduction in a relaxed and witty manner. He elaborated on his growth background, academic experience, as well as his research interests and professional insights in the field of architecture over the years. His sincere and inspiring sharing quickly put the students at ease. Students then took turns to introduce themselves generously, combining their majors in Environmental Engineering, Architecture and Landscape Architecture to share their learning experiences, curiosity and expectations for the architectural field. In the relaxed conversation, the distance between teachers and students was quickly shortened, and the whole event officially kicked off in an open and friendly atmosphere.

Subsequently, the teachers and students engaged in an in-depth exchange on the housing situation and housing price trends, topics of high concern among contemporary youth. Drawing on his professional architectural perspective and overseas practical experience, the professor responded to and discussed the questions one by one.

During the discussion, the students spoke actively and interacted enthusiastically based on their own observations and professional knowledge. The professor provided detailed analysis by combining the current situation of the architectural market in Poland and internationally, and integrated the laws of the housing market with professional knowledge such as architectural design, urban planning and environmental engineering. As a result, the discussion was endowed with both practical significance and academic depth, fully demonstrating the value and significance of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary dialogue.

In the free talk session, students asked actively and consulted Professor Jacek Czubinski about the employment situation of architecture majors at Cracow University of Technology in Poland. The professor shared patiently: about 30% of the 200 students in each cohort of CUT's architecture major are directly engaged in architectural design, planning, project management and other related work after graduation. He also mentioned that there is an obvious gender ratio gap in studying architecture locally, with a male-to-female ratio of about 8:2, and there are still relatively few female practitioners in the industry, allowing students to have a more intuitive and comprehensive understanding of the current situation of studying and employment in the overseas architecture industry. The Q&A was relaxed and smooth with constant collisions of ideas, fully demonstrating the unique charm of cross-cultural communication.

As the event drew to a close, all teachers and students took a group photo to capture this warm and memorable moment of cross-border and interdisciplinary communication, drawing a successful conclusion to the oral exchange session. In the future, the International School of Engineering will continue to develop the "Hi, Professors!" brand activity, constantly broaden the dimensions of communication and innovate interactive forms, build a more international, professional and diversified communication platform for teachers and students, and continuously promote academic mutual learning and cultural integration between China and foreign countries.
